When the SKYSHL SS100 is used in conjunction with an Optical Power Meter (which provides the test light source for the Optical Power Meter), they combine to form a simple, cost-effective fiber optic test partner for testing insertion loss and continuity of singlemode or multimode fiber optic links, and when used in conjunction with a fiber optic identifier for fiber optic cable identification.

    In 2008, In the heart of SKYSHL’s R&D lab, a team of engineers worked tirelessly to develop the perfect handheld optical fiber light source.     1.What wavelengths are available for the SS100?

    SS100S supports single-mode / SM wavelengths of 1310nm and 1550nm, SS100M supports multi-mode / MM wavelengths of 850nm and 1300nm, and SS100D supports both single-mode wavelengths of 1310nm and 1550nm and multi-mode wavelengths of 850nm and 1300nm.

    2.Is it possible to measure optical loss and optical continuity using only the SS100?

    No. The SS100 is only an optical fiber light source that provides only the invisible wavelength of the test light signal during the test. An optical power meter must be added to the other end of the fiber and the measured value of the optical power meter must be read in order to test the optical loss and optical continuity.

    3.Can the SS100 be supplied with a lithium battery as a power supply?

    Yes, the SS100 comes standard with 3 AA batteries. In fact, the SS100 is so energy efficient that it can work continuously for 13 hours with a 10-minute automatic shutdown function (needs to be turned on), and AA batteries are very easy to obtain, making it even more convenient.
    Of course, we also provide 3.7V 300mah lithium batteries for customers to choose (not included, optional), because it is a non-standard accessory, you must contact us to buy it before purchase.

    4.Is the SS100 connector UPC or APC?

    The connector of SS100 is UPC/PC, if you need APC, please contact us before purchase!

    The product page will show the shipping country and stock quantity, buyers choose the shipping place as China when purchasing, it will be shipped from China factory, except for the shipment outside of China for the local warehouse shipment (please choose the buyer's country as the shipment place, when the receiving country and the shipping country are not the same, it will be used in the cross-border mode to be shipped from the factory in China).
