Optical Fiber Power Meter
Fiber optic power meter / OPM is an instrument used to measure the size of optical power. It is mainly used in fiber optic communication systems. It is an essential basic test tool for research, development and production as well as construction and maintenance departments. The optical power meter can measure the absolute optical power or the relative loss of optical power through a section of optical fiber, thereby evaluating the performance of the optical terminal equipment.
The working principle of the optical power meter is based on the photoelectric effect and signal processing technology. When the optical signal enters the optical power meter, it is first received by the photodetector (such as a photodiode) and converted into an electrical signal. After these electrical signals are amplified by the amplifier, they are converted and processed by the signal processor, and finally the value of the optical power is displayed on the display.

Does this come with a carrying case? It’s not mentioned in the description.

The VFL is super bright! Makes finding breaks in the fiber so much easier.

Not bad, but the instructions could be clearer. Had to figure out some features on my own.
