The development of the SKYSHL SS322T OTDR was a journey fueled by the need to address the ever-growing complexities of modern optical networks. The project began with a clear goal: to develop an OTDR capable of handling a wide range of fiber types, including single-mode, multi-mode, and PON networks, while integrating multiple essential functionalities into a single device. We envisioned a tool that could serve as an all-in-one solution for field technicians, eliminating the need to carry multiple instruments. This led to the integration of an optical power meter, light source, visual fault locator, fiber end-face inspection, and event mapping into the SS322T.

One of the most significant challenges was achieving a dynamic range of up to 53dB, a feat that required the use of state-of-the-art optical lasers and ultra-sensitive receivers. After months of rigorous testing and optimization, we successfully developed a system capable of measuring fibers up to 230KM, setting a new benchmark for long-distance testing. Additionally, we implemented advanced optical algorithms and image analysis techniques, which drastically reduced event and attenuation dead zones. This innovation allowed technicians to detect and analyze faults with unparalleled precision, even in the most complex network environments.
